Give peas a chance

Hello Bloglets!

Well, its funny how things progress:  Feng Shui Bob, who I referred to recently, is now providing my work place with Feng Shui advice as we prepare to move into our new office space, which is 2 floors up in our current building and is a bigger space so I will have my own office which means I can whistle, scratch and fart in private (and do some work in a quiet space, I suppose, as well).  I told my boss some of the stories I'd heard about Bob's skills, and hey presto, "hire him."  I love that my boss is as nutty as me.  Tho she thinks I'm nuttier than her.  I don't care, as long as she still thinks I deserve a bonus.  And FYI - my little corner office is a good spot, feng-shui wise.  Phew.

And I don't know what's with the Sex Party turning up in another of my blog posts - but on the weekend I saw my old boss handing out pamphlets and wearing a yellow t-shirt reading "Say yes to the Sex Party."

And on a more contemplative note, I have had a learning which has raised a question.  I have realised that when someone looks down their nose at me, I tend to just observe them doing it, without spending any effort to correct their vision.  This may lead them to continue looking down their nose at me, or not.  But the question it now raises for me is whether it would be good for me to speak up to correct their vision.

I blame my sister Beixjian for my tendency to observe silently.  She is a Buddhist nun so it is good karma to bag the sheizer out of her.  And why is it her fault?  Because from a very young age all she wanted was goddamn PEACE (sorry for the swear word, mum, it just adds a dramatic element for the reader).  So when someone in my life, who shall remain nameless, used to pick on me a bit as a kid, I used to speak up and fight back.  But this distressed Beixjian so much that she said she would pay me $5 if I stopped fighting back.  So I did.  And peace reigned.

I don't know if I SHOULD speak up in those situations or not - I'm not sure if the silence is a bid for peace or a closing of my heart...  Or maybe it is both.  Suffice to say, I'm most grateful to those lovely lights in my life where such a dilemma does not arise (yes, my darlings, you followers are counted amongst them!).

Oh, and on Friday night I had a splendiferous meal at Mamak with Murdle who I've not seen for AAAAAAAAAAGES.  It was a treat and she is such a little spunkaroonie with a golden heart who is just HUNGRY for finding the key to happiness and the sweet ride of a life passion.  My kinda chick.

Here is Murdle at the pop-up Babooshka gallery (I KNOW - another pop-up event in Sydney Town):

And a Toyota jump for good measure:

AAAND, in other breaking news (aside from the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan), I've been on 3 dates with a boy over the past 2 weeks.  But he told me tonight that he just wants to be friends.  As BP would say: "Next!"

  1. I love your blog. Sometimes I am going to pretend I am being paid $5 every time I keep quiet. Did he really say that? Well, even though you said he was nice he can't be as nice as I thought. Next!

  4. Actually, Swacycle, I think it was really nice of date-boy to tell me straight... I'd much rather know (only a slight ego bruise) rather than carry on and have a bruised heart.

And Murdle, I KNOW, yummie roti chenai for only $5 - what a score!!
