Finally ready for my Christmas pressie

Home-hunting in Sydney is a MAMMOTH task.  I got a call last week from a real estate agent, saying that I was on their books from 2009 and was I still looking...  Well, yes.  My budget has increased since then, but so have prices.  To give a realistic picture, I haven't actually been looking consistently for all that time.  But in that time there were 4 places that I have tried to get and failed.  As much as anything, driving all over this huge city of Sydney to inspect houses for sale is so tiresome.

Since I came to Sydney in 2002, I have lived in the inner west, the eastern suburbs and briefly in the northern beaches.  I have looked for and made offers on properties in all three areas.  But now I have finally decided to buy in the South!  I feel really good about it too.  BUT, I'm thankful for each brick wall that I have come up against in my search, because they have all taught me more about what I want and how to get it.  So by and by the right one will come.  I actually feel like I've been Christmas shopping for a long time and have finally found the shop I want to buy in.  I just have to browse now until something fits right into place.

I'm sure my poor parents are thinking that I'm too fussy.  I'm certainly stubborn when it comes to spending so much money.  But I really think I will be able to find SOMETHING in my price range that I am not going to want to leave for a long time.  Something that my heart, mind and body just enjoy dwelling in and venturing out from.  And that my pets will enjoy living in too.  I haven't decided what pets to get, but I'm fantasizing about a cat and two dogs.  Or maybe two of each.  And hopefully a tree with some birds in.  BUT, I have to make sure I can meet my repayments for at least 6 months before taking on kids.  And I'll want to buy furniture too.  To sit on and stuff.

Yesterday I went to look at a place.  It was nice, but not enough grass for the pets to pee on, and it was on a slightly too busy street.  There was a crucifix over the doorway in the master bedroom, which was visible when you left the room.  Ouch.  I thought "no no no no no."  I didn't like seeing it up there.  Surely when someone has been through such an ordeal as crucifixion they don't want to be left up high over the doorway to peer down in judgement - they want to come down for a cuddle, a band-aid and a cup of tea.

My muscles are sore from Sunday's yoga class.  I think the "by and by" teacher must be inspiring me to work hard.  Muscley topless guys can do that for a gal!

Have a great day.
