The rest of the day was pretty cruisy and I felt happy in my skin. I got some emails from very special friends and left work at 4.30 so I could make it to Manly for my 6pm massage. I know, I'm pretty damn spoilt. And there was chocolate in the fridge for dessert after dinner.
The only bad thing I can think of today is that I accidentally killed a tiny tiny tiny spider when I was wiping the kitchen bench... I have seen literally handfuls of tiny tiny tiny spiders over the last few days. More than I've probably seen in my whole life. I don't know if I have an uncanny ability to attract them at present, or if they've always been around and I've just never noticed them. I saw at least four walking across my lap top on Friday afternoon in Bronte (the first two I put outside and then after than I figured maybe they wanted to be inside). Then I saw one on my hand in the cafe in Potts Point on Saturday morning. Then there was a couple on my car window. Then when I was back in Fairlight on Sunday there was one running across my sheets as I was reading in bed (for those of you who don't like spiders, it was REALLY tiny, I mean, totally harmless, not irksome). And one on the bathroom wall as I was washing the shower. Then tonight, one on the kitchen bench. I moved too quickly to wipe the bench, and didn't compute in time that the tiny black thing may have been a spider (in fact, after the last few days, probably WAS a spider) rather than a piece of dirt... Sorry spidey...
Some shots from this afternoon:

I'm not sure what I think of that photo. I like the zen simplicity, and the colour, but I'm wondering if it's a bit bland. Anyway, I like to have it here as a record of the moment on the ferry when the ride gets a bit choppy as we pass the headlands and the ocean swell from the Tasman Sea enters the harbour.
And here's a boat silhouette in Manly Cove at sundown after my massage:
AND after finishing this post I had to come back and edit it because: as I was cleaning my teeth there were 2 tiny tiny tiny spiders in the basin! I had to shepherd them out as I was spitting. What is going on???
Congratulations on your Official Welcome to Work!!! I think your 6pm massage was well deserved.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, love your photos, especially the one passing South and North Heads!
(I've just realised that I can reply to a comment...)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like the pics : )
HI Linda
ReplyDeleteSeeing lots of spiders means something (apparently)..not sure what though..you may like to look it up :-)
Hels
Yeah, I did look that up... Symbolic of feminine power OR an over-bearing female figure in my life. OR, it means that powerful forces are protecting me from my own self-destructive behaviour! Problem is, I don't know which applies (if any!).
